For my DIY Heart Challenge I have made a Vintage Heart Garland, as well as a book quote on DIY vintage paper.
Click HERE for the DIY antique paper post!!
Items needed:
- Antiqued paper (purchased or I made my own)
- Jute
- Computer and printer (if you want to use vintage prints)
- Glue
- Scissors
- Hole punch or you can use fancy paper clips or anything else you choose to attach to the jute
Here we go…
Antiquing paper
You can DIY this with ordinary copy paper or purchase paper already antiqued.
I am sharing the full DIY process in another post since it’s kind of lengthy. It’s not hard, but I didn’t want to jumble it all into one post.
Banner
I used different paper styles to add texture to my banner and then finished it off by adding a 3D effect.
I used:
- Antiqued paper with vintage book page quote
- White paper with a vintage newspaper add
- White paper
For the vintage book pages I searched google and Pinterest for the styles I wanted. There are so many different ones out there. I also love the vintage floral prints 😍.
Once I found a style that I liked I first printed it on regular paper to give it a final look over. I didn’t want to print it on my antiqued paper until I was sure it was going to come out with the right formatting and such.
I then cut out my flag banner pages (google or Pinterest search “diy flag banner pattern” wnd find the one you like) and then several hearts.
I honestly just played around with the hearts until it was stacked how I liked them. I glued the hearts onto the banner and then finished it off with a white heart.
For the 3D white heart I folded the hearts in half and then only glued the center of the heart.
Garland
To put it all together I used a hole punch jute. I strung my jute through the banner holes.
That is it!! Super simple and fun ❣️.
