Hello everyone and welcome to week one of the Fall One Room Challenge (ORC).

This is my first time joining this awesome event and I am so excited to learn and be inspired by other ORC participants.
You can check out all of the other participants and see past projects by clicking here.
My room that I will be making over for the fall challenge is our entryway. We have a large and pretty entryway, but I am wanting to change several things about it.
Staying the Same
There are 2 main things in our entryway that I love and will not be changing.
When we built our home we acid stained all of our floors downstairs. For the entryway we added a large R to the floor and stained everywhere but this area. I love this and it makes such a great impression when walk in.
The other thing I love is our doors. We have beautiful double iron doors that were a must have when we planned out the building process. Of course they were over budget so I saved abs paid out of pocket for them.
Planned Changes
1. Entryway Table
Our current entryway table I built using material that was left over from building our house. It’s oversized and very modern farmhouse. While these are both great things, I really want something with more of a vintage farmhouse vibe and something a little smaller.

2. The Walls
I am loving the tall Wainscot look or some people call it board and batten. I want to add this all around the room. I’ve seen some fairly easy DIY’s and I think this we’ll be an easy addition.

3. Paint
Currently our wall are SW accessible beige. This is a beautiful color, but I really want to lighten up this space. My plan is for SW alabaster on the bottom and possibly on the top beige BM horizon. Painting the top is going to be challenging since this same area leads to a long hallway and laundry room. I’m 99.9% sure I’ll have to paint all of these areas if I decide to tackle the top part of the wall.
4. Hooks
I also plan on adding hooks on one side of the room for our guests jackets and bags or just for decorative purposes.
5. Art
I am planning on attempting a DIY for some sort of word quote or large art piece. I’ll probably add one large piece to the table and maybe talk lamps on each side.
Follow along with me to see weekly updates on my progress over the next 6 weeks. I’m so excited to see how all of this turns out!
Thank for stopping by!
